How to set up or disconnect your BNZ bank feed

BNZ bank feeds in Farm Focus
BNZ direct bank feeds are available in Farm Focus through an API connection, allowing seamless communication between Farm Focus and BNZ. This means that connections and disconnections happen instantly, with no delays.

You can:

• Connect an existing manual BNZ account.

• Set up a connection for a new BNZ account.

• Disconnect or remove BNZ accounts if needed.

Before you start
Ensure you have a valid BNZ bank account number.

Set up connections for existing manual accounts

1. Go to Settings > Bank Accounts.

2. Click on the BNZ account you want to connect. It will be marked as a Manual Account.

3. Scroll down to check your account details.

4. Click Setup Bank Feed.

• You will be redirected to the BNZ internet banking login screen. Enter your BNZ credentials and click Login.

• Authorise Farm Focus to view your banking information and confirm your connection.

• Select the accounts you want to connect. Click Connect (or Select All if you want to connect all accounts).

• Your BNZ connection will now be active in Settings > Connectors.

• Go to Settings > Bank Accounts to complete the setup. Accounts will be flagged in blue with Finish setting up your BNZ account.

• Enter the bank feed start date and click Save. Transactions from that date will appear in Needs Action.

Set up connections for a new BNZ account

• Go to Settings > Bank Accounts.

• Click Add Bank Account.

• Select BNZ from the bank drop-down list.

• Follow the on-screen prompts to set up and authorise the connection with BNZ.

• Once connected, you will be redirected to the New Bank Accounts page.

• Select the accounts you want to start a bank feed for, including any existing manual accounts, and click Connect.

• Complete the setup in Settings > Bank Accounts, including entering the bank feed start date.

• Once connected, the Account Name and Account Number fields will be locked, as they are fed directly from the bank.

Disconnect BNZ accounts

You can either disconnect an individual BNZ account or remove the entire BNZ connection.

Disconnect an individual BNZ account

1. Go to Settings > Bank Accounts.

2. Select the BNZ account you want to disconnect.

3. Click Stop Bank Feed.

4. The account will now be a Manual Account, and transactions must be entered manually or imported via a file.

Disconnect the entire BNZ bank feed

1. Go to Settings > Connectors.

2. Select BNZ.

3. Click Disconnect BNZ.

4. The BNZ connection will be removed, and all linked accounts will become Manual Accounts.

Remove BNZ completely

If you no longer bank with BNZ and want to remove all associated accounts:

1. Go to Settings > Bank Accounts.

2. Select the BNZ account(s) you want to remove.

3. Ensure the account status is Active.

4. Click Remove Bank Account.

5. The bank account will no longer appear in Farm Focus.

Troubleshooting

Reconnecting with BNZ

If you have not logged into Farm Focus for 60 days, BNZ will automatically disconnect your bank feed for security reasons. You may see one of the following notifications:

• If you are not the subscription owner: Contact the subscription owner to reconnect the feed.

• If you are the subscription owner: Click Reconnect Now and enter the details you used when first setting up your BNZ connection. This will restore your BNZ bank feed.

Incorrect bank prefix

If the bank selected is BNZ, but the account number does not start with 02, you will receive a warning message. Ensure you are using a valid BNZ account number.
