Updating your GST number

If you need to change your GST number we suggest you give our support team a call.

 

Changing GST frequency and basis

  1. Go to Reports > GST Returns.

  1. Click the Settings icon in the top right corner of your screen.
  2. Change the frequency or basis of your GST reporting period.
    • These changes will take effect starting with your next unfinalised GST return.
  3. Opt in or out of having the GST invoice automatically created.
  4. Click Continue to save your changes.

TIP: We strongly advise you to consult your accountant before you change the basis of your GST. Changing the GST basis can be complex, and if you do decide to change it, ensure everything is filed in the correct GST period. This can be especially problematic with partially paid invoices.

To update your GST settings, go to Settings > Financials to change your GST number or add your NZBN. To change GST frequency or basis (Payment to Invoice), go to Reports > GST Returns and click the Settings icon.
