Why connect with DairyBase?

DairyNZ DairyBase is a benchmarking and farm performance tool that helps dairy farmers compare their physical and financial performance year on year, and against industry benchmarks.

Farm Focus and DairyBase have joined forces to bring farmers smarter and faster benchmarking.

Connecting your Farm Focus subscription to DairyBase ensures that benchmarking data is more up to date and reflects what’s actually happening on-farm. 

What data is shared with DairyBase?

When connected, only consolidated KPI-level data from your Farm Focus subscription is shared with DairyBase.

This includes high-level totals such as:

• Total wages
• Total animal health
• Total feed grown on farm

No detailed coding information is shared. To view the KPI reporting groups assigned in your code list, go to Settings > Codes > Farm Codes > Select and open the category or extended code of interest and scroll down to view the KPI reporting group. 

NOTE: Data recorded below the line — such as asset purchases, personal drawings, and tax — is not sent to DairyBase.

How often is data sent?

• Initially, data from the 2024/25 financial year will be provided to DairyBase.

How to connect your farm?

1. Go to Settings > Connectors > DairyBase > Connect to DairyBase.
2. You will be redirected to the DairyBase login screen.
3. Enter your DairyBase email address and password to authorise the connection.
   • Authorisation happens at this stage, and you’ll only need to do this once.
4. If you manage multiple farms, select the farm you wish to connect.
   • Only one farm can be connected per Farm Focus subscription.
   • If you manage multiple farms that supply data to DairyBase, contact DairyBase for advice.

How to disconnect

1. Go to Settings > Connectors > DairyBase.
2. Select Disconnect from DairyBase.

Your Farm Focus data will no longer be shared with DairyBase until reconnected.
